Javier Carrasquillo 


Photographer, video artist.


In 2011 he graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Puerto Rico, specializing in Art History and Photography. It is in this same university where he worked as an associate professor of Audiovisual Communication. At the same time, he has worked as a photojournalist for various media and as an educator in art workshops in Puerto Rico.


Since 2007 his work has been exhibited in museums and galleries in his native country. In 2011, he received the Honorable Mention Award from the Museum of Contemporary Art of Puerto Rico for his works "The Patron Saint of Rio Piedras" and collection "From Barrio to Barrio", now part of the museum's public collection. His work focuses on the study of light and the passage of time, collecting themes such as existence, mysticism and religion.
